Quick and Easy White Rolls!

Here is a simple white roll recipe that will become a keeper and will have you never wanting to buy store purchased rolls again, ever!

Makes 12 rolls!

1 and 1/3 cups of warm water
2.5 teaspoons of active dry yeast
2 tablespoons of sugar
A pinch of salt
1 egg (or egg substitute equivalent)
1 handful of flax seeds

Preparation:

Put the oven on to about 350 to get it nice and warm, while you're busy making the dough!

Then, you will fill a mixing bowl with 1 and 1/3 of a cup of warm water (not scalding) plus the 2.5 tablespoons of yeast. You will also mix in the sugar and then you will simply walk away!

When you come back to your yeast mix 10 min later it should have formed a fluffy, foamy crust and be ready to go!

Into the yeast mix you will then add 3 cups of flour and an egg PLUS a dash of salt and a handful of flax seeds - omit them if they're not your thing!

Mix the dough until it pulls together and add a little more flour if it is too sticky after a couple of minutes. Then, turn out your dough onto a floured surface and kneed the dough several times until it is fully together and has a slight stretch to it. Add more flour if you wish!

Pull the dough into 12 piece and line them up onto a greased pan. You can roll them slightly for a rounder shape or drop them for a rustic looking roll instead, it is up to you! Then place the rolls on the side to sit for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, pop your rolls in the oven. It might take anywhere between 8 and 15 minutes to cook but pay close attention because they will brown fast once the process starts!

Take your rolls out of the oven when they look suitably cooked to your liking and place them on the side to cool! You could enjoy a hot, buttered roll right out of the oven and on to your plate, too, but just remember to be careful and not burn yourself!

And so there you have it, quick and easy white rolls! A great staple in any home - never buy store bought again!

Enjoy!
